Deaner put this song on ween.com a little while ago. It was on what he called The Mollusk Sessions, which included alternative versions of songs that were on The Mollusk and some that didnt make the cut. Kim Smoltz is one of those songs and I think its one of the better songs Ween has released in a while...but The Mollusk is my favorite Ween album so that makes sense.

Iggy & The Stooges Reunite

The Stooges have announced plans to reunite their surviving Raw Power lineup and perform the album in its entirety. The band will be performing under the "Iggy and Stooges" moniker which was the name that Raw Power was released under. Frontman Iggy Pop insists that "The Stooges" as a band no longer exist due to the sad death of guitarist/bassist Ron Asheton in January.
Three of the four original members of the Michigan band re-formed as the Stooges in 2003 and toured regularly for five years, including in Australia, but they played nothing from Raw Power because the band's line-up changed after its first two albums, the Stooges and Funhouse. When the band became Iggy and the Stooges to make their third album in 1973, guitarist Ron Asheton was replaced by James Williamson and Asheton played bass.
Also, Pop was a heroin addict at the time, one of the contributing factors in the Michigan group's split soon after the album came out and flopped.
Asheton, whose brother Scott is the Stooges drummer, died of a heart attack in January this year.
Pop, 62, told The Australian on Tuesday that he had plans to re-unite with the remaining Iggy and the Stooges line-up, with noughties Stooges addition Mike Watt on bass.
Pop said that while the original Stooges ended with Asheton's death, "there is always Iggy and the Stooges, the second growth of the band''.
"I had a meeting in LA last week with James (Williamson),'' Pop said. "It was the first time we had seen each other in 30 years. So we talked about doing something together. Raw Power would be the repertoire.''
The landmark album, mixed by Pop's friend David Bowie, has been cited by Nirvana's Kurt Cobain and many other rock stars as their favourite album and is considered one of the most influential in rock history, despite the fact that it sold so poorly on release.
Pop also revealed that Asheton had left six or seven "hard-driving rhythm tracks'' that could also be used in a future project.
Pop, who has had a largely successful solo career for the past 30 years, has just released a left-field, jazz-influenced album, Preliminaires, inspired by French writer Michel Houellebecq's novel, The Possibility of an Island.

Weird Wavves Perspective

This photo of French electro duo Wavves makes me dizzy. There is something wacky going on with the perspective. Click on it to see it bigger...I don't know how to (don't feel like) editing the code to make it bigger. I didn't like their (his) record at first but then I listened to it on a beach with waves (duh) and sunshine and it made more sense...no kidding.
Wavves is playing at the Bowery Ballroom with Woods, Real Estate, and Popo (awesome band name), two bands that sound a lot like Wavves and one that doesn't, on 7/13, with tickets going on sale on Friday for $13. It's going to sell out, cos New York is ridiculous like that. Wanna go? It's a cheap fun summery time show to go to. Have some fun, why don'tcha.

Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy (SNL)
I forgot how funny some of these are.
=================================================
- At first I thought, if I were Superman, a perfect secret identity would be
"Clark Kent, Dentist," because you could save money on tooth X-rays. But then
I thought, if a patient said, "How's my back tooth?" and you just looked at it
with your X-ray vision and said, "Oh it's okay," then the patient would
probably say, "Aren't you going to take an X-ray, stupid?" and you'd say, "Aw
fuck you, get outta here," and then he probably wouldn't even pay his bill.
- One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my
little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out
warehouse. "Oh, no," I said. "Disneyland burned down."
He cried and cried, but I think that deep down, he thought it was a pretty
good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty
late.
- To me, clowns aren't funny. In fact, they're kind of scary. I've wondered
where this started and I think it goes back to the time I went to the circus,
and a clown killed my dad.
- You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who make people
happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea.
- If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God
is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him
is "Probably because of something you did."
- As we were driving, we saw a sign that said "Watch for Rocks." Marta said it
should read "Watch for Pretty Rocks." I told her she should write in her
suggestion to the highway department, but she started saying it was a joke -
just to get out of writing a simple letter! And I thought I was lazy!
- We used to laugh at Grandpa when he'd head off and go fishing. But we wouldn't
be laughing that evening when he'd come back with some whore he picked up in
town.
- Laurie got offended that I used the word "puke." But to me, that's what her
dinner tasted like.

Uh, tell that to Natalee Holloway.....
Has anyone else seen this commercial?
I'm sure you all have... it's all over T.V. I'm just DUMBfounded by this slogan, and shocked that somebody hasn't sued Heineken yet for actually RECOMMENDING that people drink their beer, impair their judgement, then go home with somebody they've never met.
I honestly think "Drink Irresponsibly" would be better advice
Dave, you're a lawyer..... sue somebody already.

The Vaselines with Woods opening - 5/18 Bowery Ballroom
Lastnight half of dreamtard went to the Bowery Ballroom to check out The Vaselines with Woods opening. While I love The Vaselines and their live show was pretty terrific...I was literally left with my mouth open after the Woods set. The songs sound even better live and the band is very well rehearsed, you would think they are the Broncofucks (inside joke, that means they are fucking tight). The Vaselines have some amazing, classic, catchy songs, but Woods just really seemed to tap into a sound that was original yet also pulled from all of my favorite classic bands.
The Vaselines are classic, they are the foundation but Woods were pushing their sound in a direction that I would want my band to go in (that might make you say "I need to check them out" or it could say "wow that's probably pretty whack", that's a judgment call you have to make). Whether it was Neil Young or Mission of Burma or the 13th Floor Elevators, these guys really sounds amazing. 10/10 for Woods. They are in town again on June 13th and are playing in Brooklyn somewhere. You can bet your sweet little dreamtard reading ass I am going to be there.

Dom Deluise...Dead

Fuckin bummer I always thought he was one funny motherfucker.
From TMZ.com
We've just learned that Dom DeLuise -- who starred in such classics as "The Cannonball Run" and "Blazing Saddles" and was the voice of Pizza the Hutt in "Spaceballs" -- died last night in a Los Angeles hospital.
We're told he passed away peacefully in his sleep at around 6 PM.
He was 75.

Seriously News Media....Fuck Off

So this whole Swine Flu (get bent pork farmers I am calling it Swine Flu) thing has gotten totally out of hand. I just saw this article on CNN.com about people hysterically going to hospitals thinking they have Swine Flu. CNN is acting like this is totally insane and so unexpected....I WONDER WHY THEY ARE ACTING HYSTERICAL...WHO COULD POSSIBLY BE STRIKING FEAR IN PEOPLE TO GET A HIGHER HIT COUNT AND MORE AD SALES........SERIOUSLY CNN?......GET SERIOUS. They spent the entire week, along with every other news organization, running around like it was fucking '24 Weeks Later.' SHOULD WE GET MASKS? SHOULD WE PANIC? SHOULD I BE HORDING WATER AND TANG? Ugh....why isn't there trustworthy news anywhere. You should just get all your news from dreamtard.
